Sledging Schlittel Plausch, from Wasserfallen Bergstation. A fun day out you can take the cable car up and rent a sledge that will take you down along the forest path. Deinkick  Solarbob, Seilpark and Skiing in Langenbruck, Baselland. All within walking distance from each other. It depends on the weather so please call before you go. There is a kiosk. The solarbob and the rope-climbing park are open all year round. http://deinkick.ch/kontakt.htm

Zoo Basel Five minutes from the SBB trainstation. It is open all year round and has just renovated the monkey area. Check the website for a list of recently born animals and also for information on any ongoing building projects. There are playgrounds and two Restaurants plus lots to see even on rainy days. Basel Paper Mill Museum Just ten minutes walk from the Munster. Interactive museum where children can learn all about the printing process and how paper is made, with the option of making their own. Haus zum Kirschgarten An n eighteenth century mansion with an extraordinary silver and porcelain collection as well as clocks and on the top floor a lovely collection of toys with games and dolls houses. Kannenfeldpark  A lovely overseeable park with a playground area and small swimming pond in the summer. Tierpark Lange Erlen A wonderful park which has free entry with animals mainly native to Switzerland including deer, donkeys, birds but also monkeys. It borders on the Lange Erlen forest that reaches as far as Riehen and which has ample picnic areas either in the forest or along the small river Wiese which is lovely to dip in in the summer, also for small children. There is a kiosk in the park with toilets and also a Restaurant close to the entrance and car park. In the summer it is often difficult to find a parking space so it is advisable to park along the main road. http://www.erlen-verein.ch
